January Product Showcase: Kaisercraft/7 Dots Studio/Imaginarium Designs

Hello everyone!

You are with Sandrine today and I would like to share one layout showcasing some new Kaisercraft papers in stock as well as some Imaginarium Designs Chipboard!

"It's Her Beauty That Captures Your Attention"

I used Messy Head paper for my background, I gave a very slight coat of Gesso (to prepare for my watercolour wash) and used some purple watercolour paint. I wanted to be able to see the original design of the paper under the paint. For the flower shape layer I cut out the Kaiser paper doily, I did the same but used yellow watercolour paint. I then sprayed some purple glimmermist and made it run in different directions. I then splatered watercolour paint and used some masks in the background. I accentuated the flower shape with some old rub-ons.

I continued by cutting 5 butterflies out of my Kaiser paper, and painted with watercolour, using both yellow and purple together. I heat embossed my chipboard flourish and then painted it yellow.
I hope I inspired you to have a play with watercolour paint and some of the below Scrapping Outback products - amazing aren't they? -

I will be back very soon with some tips on how to use your stencils!

Thanks for stopping by!

January 2015 "White with a Twist" challenge....

Welcome to the NEW YEAR :) We hope that you have all had a great Christmas and are looking forward to what the
New Year will bring!!!!
What better way to start the year than with this scrumptious looking cocktail for our "White with a Twist" January Challenge.
 What a gorgeous, refreshing
colour combination.
So welcome to our January colour inspiration Challenge everyone!
This month we want you to use White combined with the colours in this yummy looking cocktail.

So the challenge is:
Create a layout inspired by ALL the colours in this photo and you MUST use at least one piece of chipboard.

You must use WHITE combined with the colours above. You can use printed paper as long as these colours are the main focus of the paper. There can be other colours on the printed paper, but not too much to take away from the colours in the inspiration picture.

You can use anything to create these colours like mists, inks or paints.

You can use a small amount of black/brown just for a little stamping, inking, journaling or just as a small accessory, however it is NOT to be the main focus of your layout.

You can use as little or a lot of each colour, but every colour or shade of that colour in the picture MUST be used. You can use varied shades of the colours - it depends on the inspiration that you get from the picture.

Rules:

Create a layout following the above criteria

After you have created a LO for the challenge please upload it to your blog, online gallery or Facebook page -  make sure you mention us and link back to our blog challenge.  Then add your challenge link to us using the correct Mister Linky on the right hand side of our BLOG.

So to get you inspired to create we have some wonderful examples from our very talented Design Team girls....

First up this month we have Marie Mazz Cairns with this gorgeous layout using white cardstock as the base with lots of added splashes of colour.

Marie's TIPS:
Use mists or inks to change the colour of your flowers if they’re not quite the right colours.
For the title, I sprayed perfect pearls mist onto the black ink while it was still hot – adding a little ‘sparkle to the smile’ LOL
Products Used:
Lindy’s Stamp Gang Flat Fabio (Hibiscus rose & Toto’s tornado black)
Monte Marte modelling paste
Tim Holtz mask
Zipper flower
Cupcake dies
Papermania tissue paper (Madame Payraud’s)
Helmar quick dry adhesive 450
Perfect pearls mists (interference red)

Next stunning layout we have to share with you is from Karen McLaughlin - Karen has also used White cardstock as her base and added splashes of colour with chipboard, flowers and mists.
Karen's TIP: Remember to cover your white cardstock with gesso before applying other mediums so that the colour can be blended and manipulated more and doesn't just sink into the cardstock.

Marie has been super busy this month and loved the colour combo so much that she decided to create 2 layouts for us. This gorgeous creation is so yummy looking!!

Marie's Tips:
Don’t be afraid to use up scraps – I’ve changed the colours of the Queen’s Heart pps by using a distress paint dabber.
I’ve also inked a scrap of SO white cardstock after dry embossing.
Fussy cut a second photo and mount up to increase dimension
Products Used:
Merci sticker swatch book words & alpha
VersaMagic (Jumbo java) and VersaColor (Raspberry) inks
Helmar 450 Quick dry adhesive
Ranger Distress Paint (picked raspberry)
Stampendous Aged embossing enamel (shabby white)
Mont Marte modelling paste
My2angels cupcake & Christmas charms

Here's hoping you all love this colour combo as much as we do and get your entries in - can't wait to see what you all come up with for the NEW YEAR!!!
Happy Scrapping
